Olivia Smith | Class of 2020 Washington Community High School Shelby Seniors

November 15, 2019

Meet Olivia Smith, Class of 2020 senior from Washington Community High School!  I can’t help but smile when thinking about Ms. Olivia because she is as funny as she is beautiful as she’s a whole lot of both.  She always keeps us laughing with her quick wit!

Olivia has had the opportunity to participate in many of our themed sessions since we started the Class of 2020 Shelby Senior program in March.  So, we thought her senior spotlight here on the blog was a fabulous time to show off how some of those creative sessions and how fun it is to capture Olivia and all of our other seniors throughout the year!

After high school, Olivia plans on attending ICC for 2 years before transferring to a University to major in Genetics.  She participates in Fitness Club, International Club, NHS, Art Club, Spanish Club, and Pep Club!! Outside of school, Olivia works at Mosbach Chiropractic Clinics and she loves it. Her bosses, Dr. Jim and his wife, Michelle “are the sweetest people I have ever met and I’m so blessed to be able to work with them!”

Her favorite teacher is Mrs. Banzhoff who happens to be her art teacher.  “She is super spunky and creatiive. Not only does she give great creative advice for projects, but she is also a very genuine caring person who cares for her students.  I also love photography and being able to capture certain points in time and then look back on them!”  Olivia’s hobbies include anything creative and she especially loves to paint.

“My perfect day consists of sleeping in on a rainy day with all my dogs by my side. Maybe watch some scary movies or paint something new!”

“Three things on my bucket list include: Adopt as many dogs as I possibly can, buy a sports car and go bungee jumping!”

FOOD and FAMILY:

  1. What’s the most unusual thing you’ve ever eaten? Shark
  2. What’s your favorite family recipe? My mom’s spaghetti- Its so easy to make but it tastes like it’d take hours to prepare
  3. If you could only eat one meal for the rest of your life, what would it be? Steak and mashed potatoes
  4. What’s your favorite holiday and family holiday tradition? Christmas! On Christmas Eve, my family goes to my mom’s parents for dinner and gift exchanging. Once we get home from that, we open presents from my mom. Then, on Christmas Day, we go to my dads, exchange gifts and then finally go to my dads parents. While eating dinner there, my cousin Allie and I sit in these tiny children sized chairs along with an extremely short table! I don’t know why we still do this but we’ve been doing it for years.
  5. My hero is my dad because of how selfless and independent he is
  6. My favorite family trip was to Florida because I was able to boogie-board on an almost empty beach all weekend with AWESOME waves with my family.
  7. What is your favorite childhood memory?Going to the icecream shack with my grandma and cousin to eat cheese-fries and vanilla icecream with sprinkles.
  8. What’s the best thing about your mom? My mom has always been extremely strong willed, intelligent & not to mention feisty (must be where I get it from). It’s hard to pick one best thing since she has many great qualities that all come together to make her who she is. I’d have to say her determination is something that has always stuck out to me . Not only that, but she puts her kids needs first and is always the one to call in time of need.

RANDOM:

  1. Tell me about a moment you are most proud of? I was always told by previous teachers that I’d be in academic classes since 5th grade, but when high school hit, I pushed myself hard and was able to get myself into all Honor classes. It’s constant hard work, but so worth it!
  2. If you could travel any where in the world where would you want to go? I would love to visit Germany someday. I’m part German so visiting my roots would be an amazing experience.
  3. I love to watch football. And I played softball for 10 years.
  4. I LOVE Billie Eilish. I saw her in concert recently and it was my first concert ever. It was breath-taking!!
  5. I have freckles in my right eye!
  6. Nicknames?  Liv or Livi
  7. What’s your favorite current fashion trend? Right now I’m kinda into an edgier fashion sense. Turtlenecks with tshirts over it and combat boots are the look!!
  8. What’s your usual school style? I usually go to work right after school so I tend to dress up almost everyday. Usually I wear jeans and a nice blouse.
  9. What are your favorite clothing stores to shop at? HnM, Hollister, American Eagle
  10. Why did you choose Shelby Photography for your senior portraits photographer? Because I LOVE Cindy and Stephanie!!! Their work is such high-quality and makes everyone feel special.  Their photos are flawless!
