I am a wedding and portrait photographer serving Peoria, IL and surrounding communities. We love to travel too! Our primary focus is weddings and high school senior portraits but we also love photographing families and specialize in professional headshots/personal branding for small businesses. I’m the momma of four great kids and my business is named after my youngest daughter, Shelby who happens to be a “mini me”. Our logo is an arrow which represents the most important things in my life.. Family, Christ, Courage, Protection, Courage, and Sense of Direction.
When Shelby turned 18, she came home with a tattoo of an arrow on her forearm. I asked her, why an arrow? She said, "when life is pulling you backwards, it just means that God is going to launch you into something great! So have faith, aim, and focus, and everything will be ok." I immediately loved the meaning and thought it was a great way to represent my photography business.
If you bring your dog(s) to your portrait session or they are part of your wedding party, consider yourself to be one of my top ten clients! #iamobsessed. I have two black and white dogs named Boo and Ozzie. At work, when I’m not taking a photograph, I can be found editing at the computer while Ozzie, the maltipoo, is taking a snooze on my lap!
I love it! Starbucks, Thirty-Thirty, The Blend, and Zion Bring it on!
“First I drink the coffee, then I do the things.”
I’m an extrovert and love being around people, but I’m also a homebody and can be perfectly happy snuggling up to my husband watching a movie or tv series on Netflix.
I am blessed with THE BEST husband. He makes me laugh...every day...so hard it hurts. I know that I’m unconditionally loved and that’s one of the GREATEST feelings in the world. He is an awesome dad to our kids and my biggest supporter.
My hometown of Washington and the tight-knit people that live here. I love serving the community and enjoy being the social chair for the Washington Rotary Club. When I was a little girl, I remember driving from Morton to Washington in the family station wagon to see our grandparents. I distinctly remember loving all of the old buildings, shopping in the stores and eating lunch in the tearoom with my grandmother. Now, I am blessed and very proud to have my own small business on the Washington Square!
“Fill your life with adventures, not things. Have stories to tell, not stuff to show.” I love rollercoasters… the scarier the better! Snow-skiing.. I stick to the blues and the occasional easy black! Going to the beach. I love the feel of sand between my toes, the sound of the waves crashing, and the smell of salt air while spending time with my family or reading a good book! I’m also the first in my family to play in the ocean.. what sharks?
Favorite Movies and TV shows: Any chick flicks… but especially the predictable ones with kissing at the end! All time fave movies and tv shows: - Steele Magnolias, Fried Green Tomatoes, Forest Gump, Rain Man, Tommy Boy, Chicago Fire, Chicago Med, Chicago PD, Nashville, Game of Thrones, Criminal Minds, and The Bachelor!
I’m actually a pretty good cook but I tend to eat out more than eat in. My husband is an expert smoker on the Green Egg; bring on the pork butt!! I have a tendency to order the most unusual thing on the menu. I hate bland food and love to spice it up! Mexican is my favorite!
