Emily Mowbray | Class of 2021 | IVC High School

August 27, 2020

Introducing the lovely,  Class of 2021 senior from IVC high school, Emily Mowbray!  I first met Emily when I photographed her at the age of 5 years old. (I think she wore a little sailor dress) And then we met again when I photographed her as a freshman.  I literally feel like I blinked and all of a sudden Emily is a senior!  I can just imagine how her momma is feeing about that too.  High school goes way too fast!

Emily is super laid back and fun to talk with.. having a conversation with her even back when she was a freshman was as natural as could be. She is bubbly, sweet, and funny.  She would describe her personality as respectful and “I tend to be a good listener.”

Her favorite high school teacher is AP US History teacher, Mr. Bredeman, “because he always makes the class laugh and listens to his students and makes them feel comfortable when they come to him with a question.”  Her favorite class is AP Language because she is good at writing.  In school, she participates in Student Council, NHS, Soccer, Link Crew, and Spanish NMS. Outside of school, she works at Pearce Community Center as a Counselor.  Her hobbies include listening to music, hanging out with friends, spending time with her grandma, cooking, and watching movies.

My “perfect day” would go like this…  “I would wake up fully rested in the morning then go get my favorite coffee from the Spot which is an iced chai tea latte. Then I would get ready in my favorite outfit, makeup, and hair and feel confident and beautiful all day. Then I would spend some time with my mom and grandma. After that I would go on a cruise and get good with my three best friends. Finally, at the end I would go to my boyfriend’s house and play with his dog and watch movies with him.”

Food and Family:

  1. Favorite drink – a fruit smoothie
  2. Favorite candy – Starburst
  3. Favorite family recipe – Party potatoes and it’s my favorite because it’s so cheesy and always good right out of the oven.
  4. If you could only eat one meal for the rest of your life, what would it be? would have a Chick-Fil-A chicken sandwich, watermelon, strawberries, and Culver’s fries with ketchup.
  5. The best thing about my mom is how caring and selfless she is. If I am sad or sick or anything I am always welcome to wake her up and she always is wide awake to help me no matter what time or how tired she is. She always does everything she can for me to give me the best life possible all by herself and she always has.
  6. My hero is my mom because she has given up so much for me and has raised me all by herself and has done such a good job at it.
  7. My favorite family trip was to Disney World because it’s something both my mom and I really enjoyed and still talk about to this day.
  8. My favorite childhood memories are going to my Grandma and Grandpas house all the time and spending Christmas with them.
  9. Favorite holiday -Christmas. We do family Christmas in July every year because my family isn’t able to get together for real Christmas so we rent out the white building at Shore Acres and everyone brings food and we bring gifts for everyone and it’s always really fun.
