Ashley Gibbs | Morton High School Senior pictures Class of 2020

July 29, 2019

Meet the super fun, amazingly sweet, outgoing, and absolutely stunning, Class of 2020 senior, Ashley Gibbs, from Morton High School!!  To say that we had THE BEST TIME during her senior pictures would be an understatement. Every outfit and location was perfect but my favorite was at the end when Stephanie and I jumped into the pool with Ashley to capture her doing was she loves best…. swimming!!  Ashley’s perfume is chlorine.. she spends ALOT of time at the pool because she is a lifeguard at the Morton pool, she’s on the swim team and she also coaches for the Morton Otter team!  Besides swimming, she also works at Leaves n Beans as a coffee barista; she also nannies and volunteers with student council activities, and her family helps with several St. Jude events.  Ashley happens to be the Student Council Class President and participates in FCA.  Whew…. she is a busy girl fò sure!  Ash also likes to read books, watch Netflix, and drink tons of coffee!  After high school, Ashley plans on attending ICC and wants to be a Child Life Specialist.

This year, she is looking forward to making more memories that she will remember for the rest of my life.  “Meeting new people, working hard as student council president, last school dances, and lots of crying are all things I expect to see from my senior year. I’m super excited to see all the fun things I will do but also will be very sad to close that chapter of my life.”  Here is some great advice to incoming freshman from Ashley…  Be yourself, find true friends, do your homework even though you don’t want to, and don’t do drugs or party!!

Her favorite teacher is Madame Love. “She is my French teacher and I absolutely LOVE her! I’ve had her since my freshman year and she has always made class something to look forward to and enjoy. We have random food days, fun projects, and honestly my classmates have become some of my closest friends. French would also be my favorite class for most of the same reasons. I really enjoy learning about other languages and cultures but the people and memories I have gotten from that class I will never forget.”

St. Jude week at school is her favorite event! “We have a weeklong of activities, Mr. Morton pageant, and a school wife dodgeball tournament. This is my favorite because we get to have a ton of fun while also raising money for a charity close to my heart.”

Ashley would describe her perfect day at sleeping in, going to get coffee with her closest friends, going on a long road trip and having tons of fun and then returning home to a bonfire!

  2. My favorite family trip is anytime we go to Colorado! We love to hike and have a fun time together.
  3. My favorite childhood memory is going over to my great grandpas house all the time, playing on this “cool” chair and eating circus peanuts. I also loved playing with my friends and I remember those very fondly.
  4. The best thing about my parents is that they can pretty much always make me laugh and that they have helped me though so many ups and downs in my life and haven’t left my side.  You two are the best, I love you!!!
  5. My favorite holiday tradition is going to my grandma’s house on Christmas Eve to open gifts and get ready for Christmas!

  5. I am most proud of the work we have done in student council. The money raising for charities or just spreading love and kindness around the school.  Its so important to reach to everyone around us.
  6. Why did you choose Shelby Photography for your senior portraits photographer? I chose Shelby Photography because it was something that caught my eye a long time ago and I just followed on Instagram to keep in mind for when the time came. I also had many friends get their pictures taken here and I LOVED how they turned out! I also love that we have professional hair and makeup that make the pictures about me while staying true to my look without looking like someone different!
