Kaitlyn Keeley | Class of 2018 | Washington Community High School

October 18, 2017

Meet the lovable, breathtakingly beautiful, and super funny Class of 2018 senior from Washington Community High School.. Kaitlyn Keeley!  I absolutely LOVE having Kaitlyn on my Shelby Senior model team, she makes me happy every time I see her!

After high school, Kaitlyn plans on attending Brown University or Boston University to major in Business. But she would love to go to Harvard!  She is a cheerleader, participates in tennis, and she loves softball!   She has a hidden talent which is singing!  “Once you get to know me, you’ll know that I hate being embarrassed so one thing that was very daring for me was singing the national anthem at a volleyball game and she had never ever sang in public or to anyone before!” One time, she and Tate harmonized so well to Someone Like You by Adele, that she decided maybe it was a hidden talent :). A moment she is most proud of is facing some adversity her sophomore year when she wasn’t hitting the ball well during softball season.  “My coach told me I would never hit it far and by the summer after that, I hit one over the fence for the first time and I was super proud of myself”

Advice to incoming freshman: “Well other than “Take Algebra your freshman year!!” (As the nerd in me would say) I would say, Try everything you possibly can!! You may regret not taking advantage of all the things high school has to offer!!”

Besides food and water, she could never survive without her dogs, Dunkin Iced Coffee (hazelnut with cream and sugar) and her friends. Two things on her bucket list would be 1. Travel to Europe (and meeting the love of her life while there)  2.Repay her mom for everything she’s done for me!!

Biggest pet peeves: Bad attitudes! Especially in sports. “Like just shake it off and get the next one!” She also hates in when she’s on IG and her mom looks over her shoulder.  One of her most treasured possessions is a necklace made from a diamond that was on her grandmother’s ring.. she misses her everyday.

Kaitlyn would describe her perfect day as sleeping in because she NEVER gets to do that!  Followed by a breakfast of chocolate chip pancakes, watching movies with her friends alllll day and then going out for dinner to Osaka because “I love that food!”

One of the most influential people in her life is softball coach, Stephanie Lawson, because “she has taught me everything I know about working hard and accepting life’s adversities as they’re thrown at you.  My hero would have to be my mom because even if she struggled raising 4 kids, none of us kids would have known. She busted her butt when I was growing up to make sure that all of her kids had everything they needed and has never asked for anytime in return. The best thing ab out my dad is his ability to discover new places to eat, and some of my favorite places now are the ones he introduced me to. My mom is one of my favorite people ever and it’s hard for me to choose one favorite thing about her!”

Here are some of Kaitlyn’s fun favorites:

  1. TV show: Grey’s Anatomy and Gilmore Girls
  2. Sport: Softball.  “I also love wrestling (cute guys) but I grew up watching my brother wrestle and it was an exciting sport!”
  3. Book:  Hunger Games and Twilight Series
  4. Holiday: Christmas or Halloween
  5. Holiday Tradition: Every Christmas, have a family party and a carol-off. “Basically, we team up and have a competition within the family for who can sing their carol the best!”
  6. Childhood memory: “I vividly remember falling into a bush filled with those spiky burrows.. I showed up back home completely covered it them. While it wasn’t funny at the time, it’s a funny memory that I look back at now.”
  7. Meal: Tofu Pad Their and Tofu Spring Rolls
  8. Band/Singer: “I LOVEEE the 1975!  I saw them at Lolla last year and they were soooo good!”

“Ten years from now I see myself as a successful business woman with a smoking hot husband with kids and a cute dog living in the burbs!”
