Grace Therkildsen | Richwoods High School | Class of 2022

March 11, 2022

Meet the lovely, kind, super-sweet, hardworking, funny, blue-eyed, blond, beautiful senior, Grace Therkildsen, Class of 2022 senior from Richwoods High School!

Grace plans on attending Arizona State University after graduation and dreams to be a nurse.  When she was a little girl, she wanted to be a pop star. ☺︎  She is looking forward to senior sunrise because “it seems so fun to be able to wake up early and go out and watch the sunrise on the football field with my best friends on one of our last days of school. My favorite teacher is Mr. Baumgardner because he always makes Chemistry fun and if we are ever having trouble with the content he always goes out of his way to help us. My favorite class is Chemistry because all of my friends are in that class and the content is really enjoyable.  I love to attend sporting event such as soccer, baseball, football, and basketball with my friends, especially if we know someone no the team.  In school, I participate in Volleyball, Interact, Spanish Club, Science Club. Outside of school, I used to do club volleyball at Central Illinois Elite Volleyball Club. Sometimes I volunteer at Helping Hands, at church, and through the interact club.  My hobbies include playing volleyball, weight lifting, and hanging out with friends and family.”

“I would describe my perfect day as having breakfast with my entire family followed by a hike or swimming with my friends.  We would finish the day watching a beautiful sunset and watching a movie at the drive-in!”

“My hero is my best friend Kelsey because she is one of he most funny, kind, and caring people that I know. She is a great person that I love and admire very much.”

Three things on my bucket list: Travel to Greece, Live in Arizona, and Skydive

Favorite singers: Taylor Swift, Harry Styles, COIN, Greta Van Fleet, and Bad Suns.

“The best thing about my parents is that they are always there for me. They have come to every single one of my volleyball games, even if they were over 2 hours away. They have also always come and watched me in musicals I am in or have seen any rewards I’ve gotten, like NHS. They are the best parents ever and I am so lucky to have them in my life.”

“My favorite childhood memory is when after I watched Alice in Wonderland, I wanted to have a “Very Un-merry Birthday Party” of my own. My sister and I made a cake and invited our grandparents over and we had a fun little party.”

“My favorite family trip was to Arizona when my sister got married. It was really fun and I got to see a lot of family and friends in one of my favorite places ever.”

” A moment I am most proud of is when I found out I got into the Direct Nursing program at Arizona State University because that is the school that I want to go to. I was also very proud when I found out I got an academic scholarship to go there too.”

“My favorite holiday is Christmas. On Christmas eve my whole family comes over to my house and we have dinner and open presents. During this my dad hides the pickle ornament in the Christmas tree and whoever finds it first gets the pickle gift.”

“The most unusual thing I have ever eaten is Calamari. My favorite drink is a Shirley Temple.  Favorite candy – Heath Bar and York Peppermint Patty.  If I could eat only one meal for the rest of my life, I would have the Brewers Grilled Cheese from my favorite restaurant, OHSO, French Fries, a Shirley Temple, then cake pops and ice cream for dessert.  My favorite family recipe is Stuffed French Toast because it is really good and we make it every year for the morning of Christmas Eve.”
