Meet the  bubbly, happy, beautiful, Class of 2019 senior from Metamora Township High School, Ashly Melody!!   Her sweet personality is contagious!!  I can’t help but smile when I think about how much fun it was to photograph this girl!   And I get to do it all of the time because Ash is one of my beloved Shelby Seniors this year.   Just a little peak into her beautiful heart: “I am most proud of myself for learning to put the positive (no matter how small those parts are) ahead of the negative. I will always try my best not to let one negative part of my day ruin the whole picture.”

After high school, Ashly plans on attending college to study Public Relations and Communications.   She is involved in Cheerleading, Track, Student Council, Prom Committee, Homecoming Committee, and she loves running road races, going out with friends, and hanging out with her boyfriend. Her favorite high school teacher is Mrs. keister because she loves creating art and “she not only taught me 3D art but also everything I know about Black and White Photography and dark room developing which I very much enjoyed!”  Advice to incoming freshman: “Stay out of drama and stay involved it will make high school so much more enjoyable.”

Ashly would describe her “perfect day” as a super hot temperature, sitting poolside with a good book and a yummy smoothie!

Family:

1. My favorite family trip was to Australia with my mom because it was a beautiful place full of awesome people and I got to hold a baby kangaroo!!
2. What is your favorite family holiday tradition? My favorite family tradition is decorating the christmas tree in crazy hats.
3. What is the best thing about your Mom/Dad? My mom is awesome because she understand how difficult things can be for me sometimes (mentally and physically) and my dad is awesome because he is the more lenient parent and they both cheer me on in everything I do!
4. My hero is my mother because she made me a pretty awesome person and taught me many life lessons through her own experience that I may not have liked to hear but live by now!
5. What is your favorite childhood memory? My favorite memory is going with my relatives to a place called Lake Sarah where we spend the week fishing, swimming, and hosting a crazy family talent show, along with bend a roo creations and other crafts.

Food:

1. What’s the most unusual thing you’ve ever eaten? Alligator
2. What’s your favorite family recipe? FRUIT PIZZA!! It is so tasty and i’ve always enjoyed decorating the “pizzas”
3. If you could only eat one meal for the rest of your life, what would it be?  Noodles and Company Pad Thai

1. What’s the most daring thing you’ve ever done? Underwater cave diving
2. If you could travel any where in the world where would you want to go? Rome
3. What’s your favorite holiday and family tradition? Going to a Wisconsin Cabin for New Years
4. Who is your favorite singer and/or band or song? Portugal The Man, Rex Orange County,Tame Impala, Vampire Weekend

6. What’s your favorite color to wear and why? I love yellow because it is so bright and happy!
7. What’s your usual school style? If I am not at school in leggings and a long sleeve I am wearing skinny jeans, booties, and a fun top!
8. List something random and fun about yourself: This summer I plan to start a writing blog!
9. Why did you choose Shelby Photography for your senior portraits photographer?  I chose Shelby Photography because I feel Cindy’s photographs have the bright happy finish that I wanted for me senior photos. The Shelby Senior experience is a huge bonus too!  The photos have not failed to show me how fashionable the girls seem and I can really see their personality in the photos along with amazing editing skills!
