Addie Beebe | Class of 2020 senior pictures | Washington Community High School

June 11, 2019

Addie.. she had me at “hello”  (sigh…)

I met this quiet, sweet, beautiful girl with a cute little giggle in March and knew immediately that I MUST HAVE HER ON MY MODEL TEAM!  Admittedly, Addie said she is a very shy person but once she got to know people, she comes out of her shell. I know she thinks I’m crazy when I push her out of her comfort zone with posing but she rocks it every.single.time and getting to know her in just a couple of months and been absolutely awesome (her mama too!)

In school, Addie participates on Student Council, Art Club, Senior Exec Board, and Washington Leadership Club. Outside of school, she does a lot of volunteering and every year participates in raising money for St. Jude on the Square.  “It’s fun and it’s for a great cause. Standing outside in the middle of the heat receiving money from people in their nice, air conditioned cars, is not always on the top of my to-do-list but it’s all worth it in the end when you see how much money you raised to help all of the kids get better!”  She also loves helping with the Make-A-Wish Organization, and one of her favorite projects was building a boating dock for people with disabilities.

Addie’s favorite teacher is her art teacher, Mrs. Kuchan. “She is really good at giving me advice and what to add to make my pieces better. My favorite class will probably be AP art in 2D, because I enjoy painting and adding a twist on my art pieces with the 2D.”  The event that she is most looking forward to this year is going to Disney in mid-January. “I haven’t been in over 6 years and I’m so excited to see all the new things they added!”  She is also looking forward to her senior prom…. dressing up with fancy dresses, taking pictures, and having a fun experience with her friends.  Advice to incoming freshman: “My advice would be get involved. It is so important to get involved, with that being sports, plays, or clubs you will not regret it. You meet a lot more people when you get involved and have a lot more fun in school.”

Addie has a super close-knit family and watching her interact with her mama always makes me smile!  She’s a homebody at times and like to hang out with her family and also enjoys going on hikes.

I asked her who her hero was and this is what she said.. “My hero is my mom because she always gives me good advice if I’m having troubles with anything,  whether it’s school or friends, she’s just always there for me, even though I might not want advice she still gives it to me.  We are really close and I tell her everything. She knows what to do when I get flustered with things and I’m not sure what to do next. She is the best mom I could ever ask for. I am very thankful God gave me such a great mom and a great family as a matter in fact. My dad is awesome as well.  We go see movies together, go hiking together, go mushroom hunting, and volunteer.  It’s funny because the way my sister and I connect with my dad is making fun of each other, LOL/. We always beat up on each other and tease one another. When people come over they get so confused because they don’t understand if we are joking or not but that’s the way we connect and have fun.  We always have great laughs together. I couldn’t imagine my life without my dad. I am very thankful and blessed to have him in my life.”

She would describe her perfect day as eating lunch at DQ, hanging out with friend, swimming, eating snacks and just relaxing and having a good time in the summer.

Here are some of Addie’s fun facts and favorites!

  1. What’s the most unusual thing you’ve ever eaten? Alligator
  2. What’s the most daring thing you’ve ever done? Catching a snake when we went camping
  3. What’s your favorite holiday? Christmas
  4. Favorite holiday traditions? Staying up late playing games and then late at night-  sneak out and look at all the presents under the Christmas tree and then going back to bed. Waking up at 6am to open presents with my family. Then we would watch movies until we had to go to our grandparents house to spend Christmas with them. Were we would eat and hangout with our cousins and open presents there.
  5. Who is your favorite singer and/or band or song? I really like Guns and Rose’s, Led Zeppelin, Rush, my favorite song from Guns and Rose’s would probably be Sweet Child of mine, I also like Welcome to the Jungle.
  6. Favorite family trip? Disney, I love going to disney it’s so exciting to ride all the cool rollercoasters and to try all the different kinds of food. My family are huge Disney fans, we love watching the movies and seeing what new ones are coming out this year. We dont get to go to Disney very often but when we do, we do it right.
  7. What is your favorite childhood memory? Making Christmas cookies with my mom and her friends. The smell of the house when you walk through the door is so amazing and buttery. Decorating is also such a fun thing to do.
  8. What’s your favorite family recipe? Christmas cookies (we stole the recipe) but we still count it as ours 🙂 it’s really good and sugary and filled with butter.
  9. If you could only eat one meal for the rest of your life, what would it be? Since it’s a meal it would have to be the meal we get at Thanksgiving, I dont like Turkey as much so I get ham, with mashed potatoes and homemade gravy, with stuffing and greanbean casserole, and for dessert sweet potatoes with marshmallows
  10. Why did you choose Shelby Photography for your senior portraits photographer? I thought it would be a great opportunity to meet new people from different schools and to make new friends and capturing that in a picture. I like how during every session you can make the pictures look so bright, clear, and pretty even thought it might have been a cloudy day.
