I’m so not over the beautiful snow and picturesque views that the start of the new year has offered, but I certainly wouldn’t mind a little more sunshine! So I thought it would be the perfect day to spread a little sunshine with this beautiful girl, Destiny Moreland, Class of 2021 senior from Washington Community High School. True story, immediately after hair and makeup, the sky turned dark and it poured. We waited a few minutes and the sun peeked out and provided the most beautiful light and amazing dramatic skies!
Destiny is one smart young woman with a great work ethic.. she currently holds a 3.992 and works 20-25 hrs a week at Monical’s. She’s not positive where she will be attending college yet, but most likely Mizzou. Destiny will be majoring in Biology/Pre-Med and her goals is to be an ED physician! She has wanted to be a doctor since she was a little girl.
Her favorite class is English because she loves writing and “reading is a part of everything that I do. My favorite teacher is Mrs. Miller because she is super nice and always brings fun to the classroom. She cares about her student and she bases learning off of her student’s personal wishes.” Her favorite school event to attend throughout her high school experience has been Community Night. “It is fun to see the entire school come together, and see the talent and personalities fo the student body. Afterwards, there is a bonfire and it’s a great way to meet new people and hang out with friends.”
On my “perfect day”, I would wake up somewhere near a beach, lay out for a few hours, swim, and then hot tub and watch scary movies.
FOOD and FAMILY
Three things that are on my bucket list are skydiving, going to Paris, and bungee jumping.
I have worked at Monicals as a waitress for a little over a year. I love working there because I have made many friends and I make a lot of money when serving.
RANDOM FUN FACTS:
I think the hardest part of the pandemic has been how little I am interacting with people on a daily basis. I love talking to people, and now that I’m doing school online, I hardly talk to any outside of school and home. I’m a very social person, so that part of it has been really difficult. When it’s over, I am looking forward to taking a trip somewhere with my friends. We have been talking about taking trips together for years now and I’m excited for life to get back to normal. I hope that my classes in college will be in person and I will have that social aspect back. Through the pandemic, I have built a stronger relationship with my family which is important to me especially since I will be leaving for college. I have learned to appreciate everything that I have because it can be taken away… socializing and going out to eat for example. I have been able to prioritize a lot of the important things that I wasn’t before and realize what I actually have do have overall. I’m thankful for the time to bond with my family and get a better understanding of life.
