Let’s talk about beauty, sweetness, kindness, and SUPERHUMAN POWERS. These are all perfect adjectives for this stunning, Class of 2019 senior, McKenzie Schroeder from Metamora Township High School!! No….human’s can’t fly but McKenzie is one of the strongest dancers I have ever photographed and this girl MUST has invisible wings.. She is beyond talented! #truth
McKenzie would describe her personality as fun, outgoing, kind to others, and athletic. After graduation, she plans on attending college to major in either Speech Pathology or Occupational Therapy. When she was a little girl, she wanted to be an architect. The event she most looks forward to during her senior year is the couples dance. Every year the high school dance team does a couples dance. This year is a Christmas theme. It brings down the house and always receives a standing ovation! McKenzie’s favorite teachers are Ms. Wainman and Mr. Toniny. “Ms. Wainman was my freshman year honors biology teacher and is my honors anatomy and physiology teacher this year. She is very funny and very knowledgeable. Mr. Toniny was my junior year honors chemistry teacher. He was also very funny and made learning chemistry fun.” Mckenzie also looks forward to Snowball. “Snowball is a lock in where we get to spend the weekend at the school. I love all the bonding activities we do and the dance we get to attend the last day.” McKenzie is very involved in school and participates in the Football Cheer Team, Dance Team, Student Council, Key club, Medical Careers Club, National Honors Society, and the Flock. “Outside of school I am on a competitive dance team, I tumble, and I was a competitive cheerleader for 11 years.” A moment she is most proud of is winning a State Championship in Competitive Cheerleading. She also loves to go shopping, hang out with friends, and play board games.
What advice would you give incoming high school freshman? I would tell an incoming freshman to get involved. High school is a lot more enjoyable when you are in lots of clubs and activities. Always make sure you work hard on your schoolwork and give it your all. I would also tell them it goes fast so make sure you enjoy every second of it.
