Getting to know Carter this year has been pretty darn awesome!!  He is quiet but confident, intelligent, beyond CUTE, and one of the sweetest senior guys ever!!  He happens to be the son of one of my classmates from high school and catching up with her and life has been a wonderful part of Carter joining our #shelbysenior model team too.    I’m absolutely sure that he has been photographed more times in the past 9 months than he will ever be photographed for the rest of his life; and I’m pretty happy about that because he has it down to a science.  Talk about uber natural in front of the lens, boom!

Carter would describe his personality as observant, amiable, and creative. After high school he plans on attending the University of Illinois to study Computer Science. This year, he is most looking forward to the robotics competitions because the team has a lot of accumulated experience and it “feels like it’s going to be a good year.”  He loves the atmosphere at the competitions and everyone is there to learn and compete.   His favorite teacher/class is Mrs. Young for Honors Chemistry.  “I have really good friends in the class and Mrs. Young encourages exploration of material. This leads to some really fun arguments and competition.”  Carter is very active in school and besides Robotics, he participates in Scouts and Flight Club.  He also enjoys programming, reading, piano, and hanging out with friends.  Advice to incoming freshman: “To not slack off with studies while getting as much fun out of them as possible.”

FOOD and FAMILY and STYLE

1. What’s your favorite family recipe? Mom’s Chocolate Chip Banana Bread, because its basically a desert we have for breakfast.
2. Fave ice cream flavor?  French Vanilla
3. Favorite restaurant?  Bernardi’s…. The Cajun Pasta
4. Drink of choice? Dr. Pepper
5. If you could only eat one meal for the rest of your life, what would it be?  A salad because there are many small ways to mix it up.
6. My favorite family trips were the two trips to Hilton head Island. Most of my Mom’s side of the family was there and it is just a week of hanging out an having fun.
7. One of my favorite childhood memories was when I was coming home from preschool one day and my aunt (or grandma) was hiding in the trunk of our minivan and jumped out and surprised me.
8. The best thing about my parents is that they may sound tough and enforcing like all parents, but I know they ultimately want me to be successful.
9. My favorite family tradition is going up to Chicago for thanksgiving every year
10. What’s your favorite color to wear? My favorite color would have to be a dark red or a dark magenta, just because of the deepness of the colors.
11. What is your favorite fashion trend right now?  Layered jackets and button up shirts.
12. What are your favorite clothing stores to shop at?  Banana Republic, Buckle, American Eagle.

RANDOM:

1. If you could travel any where in the world where would you want to go? I would want to go to space, because every time I zoom out on something I find I appreciate it more. Being able to look down and gaze upon the whole planet would be a humbling and invigorating experience.
2. What’s your favorite holiday? Halloween
3. Name three things that are on your bucket list?  Extensively visit Europe, Wingsuit, and learn how to speak at least 3 languages.
4. What is the moment you are most proud of?  That initial moment of getting High Honors in High School. It was an oh I can go a lot further moment.
5. Do you have a nickname? Oreo
6. I can get completely obsessed with working on something, but then the next day be lazy and the cycle will repeat.
7. Why did you choose Shelby Photography to be your senior portraits photographer?  The night of your information session I saw how upfront and true you were about everything.  It impressed me plus the work in your studio was also impressive.
