Meet Alexis Epkins, “Lexi-Lu” Class of 2019 senior from Pekin Community High School! She has the CUTEST style and her senior pictures look like they could jump right off the cover of a fashion magazine. Sweet, beautiful, gorgeous, perfection!! Alexis is bubbly, easygoing, and she’s incredibly fun to hang out with. Every time I’ve photographed her has been absolutely amazing!
After high school, she plans on attending college to major in Elementary Education. Her dream is to be an Elementary teacher with a speciality in reading. “I’ve always loved reading and I would love to spread that love to children.” Her favorite high school teach is Miss Deleare. “She is always joking around, and having a good time. Even though the material might be hard, the class is always fun. I also know I can always confide in her no matter the subject and she gives the best advice! Alexis is a cheerleader, a member of the NHS, Student Ambassadors, and Yearbook. “As a student ambassador, I get the pleasure of spreading positivity throughout Pekin High School and I love being a positive role model.” Outside of school, she works at Central IL Tumbling and Trampoline and volunteers for the TAPS benefit at the Pekin Boat Club. Alexis has loved attending her school’s football games. “Our student section is really big and always gets into the game. I love how our school never fails to come together and support the team every Friday night.”

Random:
- When I was in 6th grade I went to Long Beach California for the Junior Olympics for power tumbling and I received 2nd place. That is one of my biggest accomplishments in my life so far! I’m also proud of getting inducted into the NHS because it shows how all of my hard work has paid off.
- My favorite tv show is NCIS
- The most daring things I’ve ever done is cliff diving
- If I could travel anywhere in the world, I would go to Bora Bora and stay in one of the huts over the water. The water is so beautiful there and there is so much to do!
- My favorite singer is Khalid. His music is so deep and inspiring.
- My favorite sport to watch is hockey. My favorite sport to play, (for fun of course), is volleyball.
- If I had to describe my “perfect day” it would start with a big breakfast and coffee. Then I would go out on my family’s boat and spend the day lounging in the sun. After we get off the water, I would have a big dinner and spend the night sitting around the fire with family and friends.
- Three tings on my bucket list include 1. Going to Bora Bora, Skydiving, and going on a cruise.
- Why did you choose Shelby Photography for your senior portrait photographer? I chose Shelby Photography because the work Cindy does is amazing. From my own experience, I can say that the relationship Cindy forms with her clients is out of this world. I love that the photos have their own vibe and its unlike any other photographer’s work!
