Meet the bubbly, sweet, kind, and ABSOLUTELY gorgeous, Class of 2018 senior from Pekin Community High School, Erin Flairty!  I love her positive vibes and her big, beautiful smile!

Erin would  describe her personality as very random and fun loving. “I’m the type of person that wants to lighten the mood and will go above and beyond to help people be happy.   Making people smile is my favorite and if I can get one person to smile a day, then I’m satisfied!  I love to talk… a little too much at time, LOL.  I talk a lot when I’m nervous around people I don’t know. I am introverted, yet extroverted at times.  I’m very sensitive even though I don’t always act that way.

After high school, she plans on attending Saint Ambrose University to major in Nursing.  Advice to incoming freshman? “Don’t be afraid and don’t let other people intimidate you! Everyone was in your position as some point and they probably felt exactly like you do, so just be confident and don’t let people change you!”

Two  things I can’t live without:  I couldn’t imagine life without my bloodhound, Nyla. She is one main source of my happiness and she is always be my side.  I also couldn’t survive without Chinese food,  I am in love with Panda Express to be exact!

Erin would describe her perfect day as adventuring around St. Louis, taking in a Cardinals baseball game with amazing seats and meeting Yadier Molina, her all time favorite player. The weather would be warm but not too hot.   She would be surrounded by her family and as long as everyone was smiling, “I would be perfectly content with life!”

Do you have any hidden talents? “I can actually sing pretty well, but I’m shy when it comes to singing in front of a group of people”

“My most treasure possession would have to be a towel in my room that is filled with different pings that I have got from the Nationals softball tournaments because it’s the farthest I have ever gone for softball and it was such an amazing feeling to be there and feel that I had achieved a huge goal in my softball career!”

Three things on my bucket list: 1. Visit every continent but spend a lot of time in Australia.  2. Visit a camp from World War II because I love to learn about history and it’s very interesting to me.  3. See the Northern light and  watch the stars for hours

Most influential person in my life: “The most influential person in my life is my dad. He has taught me everything I know about softball and even when I think I have been through so much, I know that he has been through even more than I have. He has made me the person I am today and has taught me to not allow others to walk all over me, but to also be respectful to everyone.  He has taught me to love my country and if I see a veteran, I feel like it’s my duty to go up to them and thank them for their service!  He was in the Army for four years, and he saw many people pass away an the way he handles himself makes me wish that I was like him.  People tel me that I’m a spitting image of  him.. attitude and all!  I also love his sense of humor, but sometimes it’s hard to understand when he is being serious or not!   My mom is also influential in my life. When she laughs, the whole room lights up and whenever I’m down, she always tries to make me smile.”

Ten fun facts about Erin:

  1. When she was a little girl, she dreamed of being a veterinarian
