Meet Claire Whiting, Class of 2019 senior from Pekin Community High School!!  She is a kind-hearted, energetic, sweet & sassy, ridiculously funny, and ohhhhh sooooo pretty senior who I can’t get enough of… her spirit is completely contagious!

Claire would describe her personality as light and funny.  “I am energetic, always busy and involved. I like to encourage people and always be around friends.”  She has decided where she wants to attend college yet after graduation but has known since she was a little girl that she wanted to be an Elementary Education teacher.  Claire loves Pekin High but she is looking forward to graduation and “I’m ready to grow more!”  Mr. Holman has been her favorite teacher because he is always so excited to teach math and his positive attitude helps everyone learn and get involved.  She also loves the school dances, football games and cheering in the student section is so fun!  Claire is on the swim/dive team, involved with church and she enjoys shopping and going out to eat.  A moments she is most proud of is learning to dive in just three practices!  Advice to freshman: “My advice to incoming freshman is everything happens for a reason and working hard will pay off in the end! (Also, junior year is awful but you will survive, I promise!”

She would describe her “perfect day” as sleeping in and waking up to dogs, spending the day shopping or at Tanner’s apple orchard and then ending it with my friends eating dinner and lots of bread pudding for dessert. YUM!

Three things on my bucket list: 1. Skydive 2. Bull ride 3. Climb the volcano that is in Hawaii

Family:

1. My hero is my mom because she is involved in so many activities and still has time for her family.
2. My favorite family trip was to Arizona because I gave my mom a hard time about going there instead of our usual trip to Florida but it was beautiful.
3. My favorite family tradition is eating monkey bread on Christmas morning
4. My favorite childhood memory is traveling to the beach every year with my sisters and mom
5. What is the best thing about your parents?  My mom is very understanding and a great listener and my dad is always encouraging

Food and Style:

1. What is your favorite fashion trend right now? High wasted jeans
2. What’s your favorite color to wear? Yellow because it makes me happy
3. What’s your usual school style? Jeans and a soft & sexy shirt from A&E
4. If you could only eat one meal for the rest of your life, what would it be?  Medium cooked steak, mashed potatoes, and greenbeans
5. What’s the most unusual thing you’ve ever eaten?  Alligator

Random:

1. Do you have a nickname? Clark
2. Tell me something random about yourself?  I can sing with my mouth shut!
3. My favorite sport to watch is bull riding. My favorite sport to participate in is diving because it so cool to learn and try new dives.
4. If you could travel any where in the world where would you want to go.  would travel to Hawaii because I loving hiking and the ocean. They have the best of both worlds there.
5. What’s the most daring thing you’ve ever done? Cliff diving or Zip lining
