Abbey King | Class of 2019 Senior | Eureka High School

August 5, 2018

When I met this ridiculously GORGEOUS girl, I thought she was shy!  BUT, after getting to know Abbey, I found that she is not only beautiful, but oh so bubbly and super funny and I just looooooooove her personality.  Bottom line – She.Makes.Me.Smile!

Abbey is going into her senior year at Eureka High School and the event she is most looking forward to is Prom because it’s her favorite time of year and loves getting “dolled up” and dancing the night away with her friends!  She can’t wait for senior trips and only going to school for 4 hours!  She said her favorite teacher so far has been Mrs. Monk who teaches Bio and Anatomy. “Mrs Monk was one of the best teachers yet that I’ve had. She not only was my teacher but a friend that I could go to. She’s the most outgoing woman I know. Planned trips to Costa Rica for us science people was AMAZING. She always planned activities outside of school and during school and they were always fun!”

In school, she participates in Cross Country, Basketball, and Track. Outside of school, she swims, plays tennis and she also loves to sing, draw, and hangout with friends.  As for advice for incoming freshman – Please don’t stand in the middle of the hall or get involved in drama.  After Abbey graduates, she plans on going into the Army and wants to be a combat medic/nurse.   When she was a little girl, she wanted to be a College or Pro Basketball Coach.

Three things on her bucket list include Sky diving, Hiking the Appalachian trail, and running in a marathon in less than 2 1/2 hours!

“My hero is my Dad and Grandma Gloria. I chose my dad because he was one of the strongest men I’ve ever met. I thank him for not only giving me life, but teaching me what the word respect meant. It was hard growing up without two parents. I only had one to really depend on in life, but he always told me that no matter how hard life gets you have to keep pushing. My grandma Gloria was also a hero to me and was like a second mom to me; she could be a grouch at times, but that was mostly her personality! Grandma always believed that one day I would go off to play college basketball, she knew that’s what I always wanted, but at times I wanted to give up but grandma always knew how to brighten up my mood and to tell me to keep pushing and keep them grades up! Without her wise words of advice I wouldn’t be the young lady I am today!”

“The best thing about my mom is her strong will and she’s the biggest fighter I know.  And even though I am not my stepdad’s biological kid he still treats me like his own and loves me unconditionally.  My father was always a fighter. He fought for want he loved and what he wanted in life and never gave up.”

Here are some of Abbey’s fun facts and favorites:
